St. Mary's is proud to offer Shaolin Kungfu as a physical education credit in the upper school.

The course is taught by Master Zheng Hongfeng, former chief kung fu instructor at the Shaolin Temple. Mr. Zheng Hongfeng is visiting the U.S. as a guest of the Confucius Classroom at St. Mary’s School, an educational and cultural exchange between China and St. Mary’s School in Medford, OR.

Zheng Hongfeng is a former monk of the Shaolin Temple. He is 33 years old and has studied kung fu since he was a child. He has performed with the Shaolin performance troupe worldwide, both teaching and demonstrating kung fu. His current position at the Shaolin Temple is the personal bodyguard of the chief abbot.
