1-1:30 pm: Reception

1:30-2:15 pm: Lecture from Dr. Zheng Yuling, President of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (HUTCM), on the history of TCM and the role of HUTCM. 

2:15-2:30 pm: Break for coffee and snacks

2:30-4:00 pm: Chinese Herbal Medicine: Dr. Feng Weisheng 

Dr. Feng, Dean of the College of Pharmacology at HUTCM, will lecture on the development and current state of Chinese herbal medicine. Dr. Feng will focus on useful extracts from Chinese herbs which are highly efficacious in a number of treatments and produce few or no side effects compared to western medicines. He will talk about the modernization and increased scientific rigor being applied to Chinese herbal therapies, the increased level of governmental controls and regulation of herbal medicines in China. He will also talk about HUTCM’s leading role in cultivating herbs for China’s herbal pharmaceutical industry. He will end with a question and answer session and looks forward to responding to questions on the biochemical properties and molecular structure of Chinese herbal extracts.

4:00-4:15 pm: Break for coffee and snacks

4:15-5:00 pm: Lecture from Dr. Zheng Yuling, President of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (HUTCM), on integrated medicine, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment.

Dr. Zheng, President of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (HUTCM), will lecture on clinical treatment of malignant tumor using integrated medicine.  She will elaborate on the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment that are observed from various cases, and introduce how the use of Chinese medicines help reduce such side effects, strengthen the patients' immune system, and improve their life quality.  She will end with a question and answer session and looks forward to responding to questions on either her topic or on Chinese medicine in general.

5:15-6:30 pm: Chinese treatment of HIV/AIDS presented by Dr. Zheng Yuling.
