My name is Roberto Moreno. I’m the dean of the St. Mary’s- Beijing Campuses. I’ve been an educator for over 10 years now. I have a Bachelors in Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism and a Master's degree in Business. Before becoming an educator, I was a journalist for 10 years.
Before coming to China, I was a university professor. I taught English at Miami-Dade College. I also taught journalism workshops at the University of Miami.
Not only is teaching a passion of mine but like the students, English is not my only language. I was brought up in a Spanish speaking household.
Since 2016, China has been my home. I hope through my experience as an educator I can give the students an idea of what university will be like for them, and what to expect of a Western education.

I am Rowelyn L. Odod, a graduate of Doctor of Philosophy in Development Research Administration in one of the universities in the Philippines last April 2016. At the same university, I graduated with my Master of Arts in Science Teaching major in Biology. I worked as an educator for 15 years. I spent my first 2 years teaching elementary pupils (had an international teaching experience such as taught Korean students for months) and 13 years in secondary level. I’ve had a background in teaching Sciences (General Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics for more than 10 years), Math, Social Sciences, Human Philosophy, Statistics and Practical Research (for 3 years).

Currently, I’m teaching at St. Mary’s School, handling Math and Sciences subjects ( Financial Math, Precalculus, Biology, Chemistry and Physics). Aside from teaching, I am also into Research and Statistics. I had conducted social researches and action research. I was a Master Teacher I in our country before I came here.

It was my biggest desire to teach outside my country to experience cultural and anthropological diversity. Having diverse students post a great challenge on me. The working environment, the culture, the place and the people especially the students attracted me most here in China.

Further, I love reading books and going to different places with my family.  I’d love to explore more of the place, learn more from the experience and understand the peculiarity of the culture. My favorite quote is from Henry Adams “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”
