Outdoor Club - HS Canoeing Trip

Open to High School students only.

Departure:  3:45 p.m. on Friday, September 15.
Expected Return:  12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17.

The St. Mary’s Outdoor Program (with its fleet of six canoes) will provide students the opportunity to explore an incredibly scenic corner of our southern Oregon region.  The crystal clear waters of Spring Creek, the surrounding stands of lodgepole pine, and views of the surrounding peaks all combine to provide a stunning setting for this camping and river float experience.  No prior skill at paddling a canoe is required.  First-timers are welcome!  This is not a whitewater trip; so paddlers can expect a day of paddling canoes on a river with only mild current.  St. Mary’s biology teacher, Jerry Burke, is an experienced paddler and will provide instruction to those new to canoeing.  Several other faculty members with paddling experience will also be along to round out the crew.
