Wonder Wednesday Workshops

Workshops are a fun and FREE after-school option for kids in 4th - 7th grade. Held on campus, they give prospective and current students a chance to explore new interests and skills in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.

  • Workshop - French Art & Culture

    Students will choose a French name, make a beautiful name tag, and learn how to introduce themselves in French. They will be taught how to order food at a café and get the chance to try a French dessert.

    Gather around the campfire with our Project WILD director to learn how to start a campfire, review fire safety, share stories, and make s'mores!

    Join us for a fun, hands-on introduction to knitting! Students in grades 4–7 will learn basic knitting skills, practice different stitches, and create their own simple projects. No previous knitting experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and creativity!

  • Workshop - Mexican Mythology & Mexican Hot Cacao

    Explore the rich mythology and cultural history of Mexico through the story of Quetzalcóatl and the sacred cacao plant. In this hands-on lesson, students will encounter a traditional Mesoamerican-inspired story about cacao and its connection to humanity, while learning Spanish vocabulary related to mythology, food, nature, and daily life.

    The lesson concludes with the preparation and tasting of a traditional-style hot cacao beverage, incorporating spices and traditional preparation techniques.
