This year, the success of our math competitors' was especially evident. Competing at the advanced algebra level were Chanung (Ben) Lee, Jiho Lee, Soomin Kim, and Seok-Yeong (Alex) Park. Sunga Kim, Audrey Mills, and Jiwoo Son represented St. Mary's at the calculus level. All four students competing in advanced algebra received medals, placing them among the top six of the algebraists competing at that level! What's more, Jiho finished in first place--a rare honor indeed! At the more advanced calculus level, Sunga and Jiwoo similarly medaled in the top six of those competing!
Simply qualifying and receiving an invitation to the competition already puts students in very elite company. In placing so many students in the topmost tier of all those participating in the competition, St. Marys shines bright. Great job, Math Team! You've made us proud!
